Three Nights until Tomorrow, 2024
Director: Flavio Araujo
Essayfilm, Full HD (4:3), 5.1, 19:52 min, DCP
White sand, crystal blue water. Sounds, images and voices are woven into a beach that has been bleached by a chemical plant. For decades, it has been discharging its waste water into the sea, transforming the beach into a white paradise. Over the course of her life, a voice collects memories on the beach and records them on postcards. As the shadow of the factory grows longer and the traces no longer fade, she questions the linearity of her own horizon. Slowly, a toxic smell spreads and she realises that her image of paradise is contaminated. A whale becomes stranded.
